We welcome new members to join us either in person or via Zoom.  Membership is open throughout the year.

Attendees will need to sign in using Services NSW QR code and show proof of vaccination.

To make an inquiry about joining Macquarie Singers

You will be contacted within a few days.

There are no residential or other qualifications for membership.  Our choir performs largely in Sydney’s North Shore, Ryde and Turramurra areas, but our members live all over Sydney. Anyone over 18 who wishes to sing in the choir is welcome. Tertiary students under 18 may apply. Although Macquarie Singers is no longer affiliated with Macquarie University, alumni, staff and students of the university are encouraged to join.

Members are expected to commit to all performances during the year and must contact the President or Membership Secretary regarding any need to withdraw. Rehearsal dates are as per the Rehearsal Calendar and a 75% attendance rate applies as per the Attendance Policy. Individual circumstances can be discussed as necessary and we will be considerate if you tell us your situation in advance.

For 2021, Full:  $300; Pension card holder: $250; Student:  $30. If joining from November, the special rate is $10.

Membership is for a calendar year and is renewable in February each year.

Membership fees cover the running costs of the choir including professional conductors and accompanists, venue hire, learning files, marketing and printing as well as costs such as music licensing, public liability insurance and fees.

The repertoire for each concert is provided either in booklet form at a minimal cost to cover production expenses, or, if public domain, may be made available for downloading from the members’ area of the website.

Membership of the choir does not guarantee singing in a concert. The final decision on who may perform rests with the President and Principal Conductor.  For any inquiries contact the Membership Secretary (
